We are proud to announce that Maria Giovanna Paone has been awarded the honorary title of Cavaliere del Lavoro, conferred by the President of the Italian Republic on May 30.
Born in Naples, Maria Giovanna Paone is President and Co-CEO of Ciro Paone S.p.A., the company founded by her father in 1968 and a leading name in the international luxury tailoring scene with the Kiton brand.
Since the 1980s, she has been actively involved in the family business, taking on roles of increasing responsibility. In the 1990s, she spearheaded the creation of the womenswear line, of which she is also Creative Director.
Under her leadership, the company has strengthened its global presence with five production sites, a network of 60 monobrand boutiques worldwide, and two international distribution subsidiaries dedicated to the North American and Asian markets. Approximately 85% of the company’s turnover comes from exports.
In 2001, the company established a tailoring school dedicated to training new generations of artisans, reaffirming its commitment to preserving and promoting Italian craftsmanship.
Today, the Ciro Paone Group, with Ciro Paone S.p.A. as its parent company, employs over 850 people.
This prestigious honor acknowledges Maria Giovanna Paone’s outstanding contribution to the growth of Made in Italy, to entrepreneurship, and to the promotion of artisanal excellence. A remarkable achievement that continues the family tradition, following in the footsteps of her father, Ciro Paone, who was also awarded the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro in 1999.
