APPLICABLE LAW

The issue is governed by European Directive 2002/58/EC - later amended by Directive 2009/136/EC and implemented by national legislation in EU Member States - which, under certain circumstances, requires that consent be obtained for the installation of cookies and similar technologies.

WHAT IS A COOKIE?

A cookie is a small text file, usually consisting of letters and numbers, that is downloaded onto a device when a user accesses a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating site on each subsequent visit. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user’s device.
The use of cookies and similar technologies has long been commonplace, as cookies are important for the provision of many online services. TYPES OF COOKIES

Session cookies - these allow websites to link a user’s actions during a browser session. The use of what are referred to as session cookies (which are in any event not persistently stored on the user’s device and are automatically deleted when the browser is closed) is strictly limited to the transmission of data (made up of random numbers generated by the server) identifying the specific session and necessary for safe, efficient browsing. The session cookies used on this site avoid the use of other computer techniques that could potentially compromise the confidentiality of the user’s browsing.
Persistent cookies - these are stored on the user’s device between browser sessions and allow the user’s actions on a site to be remembered. Persistent cookies can be used for a variety of purposes, including remembering a user’s preferences and choices when using a website (or in some cases, across multiple websites).
First-party and third-party cookies - whether a cookie is first-party or third-party is closely related to the website or domain that uses that particular cookie. First-party cookies are essentially cookies set by the same website that the user is visiting.
Third-party cookies, on the other hand, are cookies set by a domain other than the one visited by the user, which fully manages them. Consequently, this site has no control over these cookies and no access to the information collected by them. Which cookies do we use?
In operating this website, the data controller uses cookies to provide services, to improve the user experience and to compile aggregate statistics on the data collected for various purposes. 
These cookies enable us to distinguish the user of the site from others, help us to improve the site and provide a good experience when you browse our site.
The cookies we use are ‘technical’, ‘analytical’ and ‘advertising’. They enable us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to study how visitors browse the site when using it. SCOPE OF DATA CIRCULATION AND RETENTION

Web contact details will not be retained for more than seven days, except in the event of an investigation into cybercrime against the site. No data from the web service will be disclosed or distributed to unspecified recipients.
