In its new collection, Kiton returns to tradition with the most vivid images and the most vibrant sensations absorbed during its travels around the world, returning to the origins from which it comes with a clear, conscious, adamantine spirit. The result is Homecoming, the second chapter of A Grand Journey, which Kiton inaugurated at the beginning of the year with its customary attention to detail and suggestiveness, laying the foundations for an itinerary which, through iconic places, events and moments, manages to capture the interest and emotion of a public that has always been attentive to elegance and sophistication.
“Kiton derives from a Neapolitan tradition which, by definition, has always been a sponge. We learn and open our minds, but we never abandon our origins, to which we always return with new enthusiasm and discoveries,” explains Maria Giovanna Paone, who has come up with a collection rooted in tradition, with the elegance, freshness and attention to raw materials that Kiton has always guaranteed. Transforming the influences, impulses and beauty we see and absorb on our travels allows us to look at what we have with new eyes, starting with familiar colors such as the blue of the sea, the brown of the earth and the orange of sunsets.
The result is a free collection that adapts to the most varied needs and the most disparate occasions, without sacrificing timeless must-haves such as the double-breasted cashmere coat, elegant and distinguished even when worn unbuttoned, duster coat-style. The fusion with folklore and that typical Neapolitan fervor create a warmth which, no matter how far away the destination, never forgets the flavors of home, their vitality and vibrant energy, recognizing the good fortune of being able to count on such a rich and sincere heritage.
These rustic, earthy tones, reminiscent of the hues in certain paintings by Vermeer and Klimt, play with prints and materials to create soft, lustrous and dynamic fabrics that reflect an elastic DNA, always ready to adapt to all occasions, without ever sacrificing elegance and sophistication. The collection combines different materials, such as cashmere, silk and cotton, with striking pictorial graphics evoking the landscapes that remain in the memory of certain distant journeys, to create an exclusive wardrobe which, in its color and weight variations, unfolds all its splendor with meticulous attention to detail and subtlety.
With the second chapter of “A Grand Journey”, we tell the story of the new womenswear collection, and with our usual attention to detail, we delight an audience that has always been attentive to elegance.
Amidst cotton sarongs the color of the sea and the earth, and sophisticated swimsuits, we also find iconic bucket bags, sitting somewhere between the extreme rigidity and the exuberant softness of certain accessories, as well as more structured bags in the finest suede, which match the wide, comfortable volumes of the pants, ideal for both long journeys and evening outings, without ever sacrificing that touch of glamour that is always appreciated. The idea that comfort is also part of the travel experience is confirmed by the silhouettes and fits that have been specially designed to avoid being harsh and imposing.
The Kiton Womenswear collection for Spring-Summer 2025 was presented exclusively at Palazzo Kiton, the historic Milanese headquarters at Via Pontaccio 21, which for the occasion became the setting for an iconic, inspirational exhibition telling the story of A Grand Journey. The fulcrum of all this is the return home, symbolically represented by a pier, where ideas, clothes and colors will cast off their moorings and dock in a sign of respect and tradition, together with “the encounters we will have and the hospitality with which we will welcome them,” as Maria Giovanna Paone is keen to point out. Symbolizing a warmth and a spirit that is traditionally Neapolitan, elegant and courteous.
